Visit to the ancient yew tree in Crowhurst churchyard. After a slightly scruffy start along the busy A22 and through a muddy farmyard, the walk heads east along a low ridge to the first yew. It has a girth of over 10 metres and is at least 1,000 years old, although hollowed out it is impossible to date accurately.
Link to walk and onward walk to Tandridge and Oxted is as follows, although I can only vouch for S. Godstone to Crowhurst part for terrain and buggy suitability:
Suitability of walk for buggies?
Only suitable for off-road buggies
Mixture of terrain – bridleways and footpaths. Short distance on a relatively quiet road.
Average level of fitness required
